For several weeks, I’ve shared that LACMA has been developing an entirely new portal for members and non-members (via limited time view) to access over 100+ solutions that can help independent medical practices and medical groups. Our initial 30+ “preferred partners” included PatientPop, Mercer as examples. The new LACMA Solutions Portal and Marketplace features 68 new partners but also feature concierge support for interested physicians, an easy-to-use menu driven experience, deeper discounts for all solutions and two ways for members to access these solutions: Rapid Vendor Connect and the Marketplace which will provide a deeper dive of each solution. Members can now visit ladocs.org and click on the Solutions Portal box to take advantage of over 100 options. View Solutions Portal Below are Frequently Asked Questions as well to help our members access and utilize the new solutions platform. Q: What is the Solutions Portal? LACMA & Gun Violence Prevention LACMA President Dr. Omer Deen is leading discussions on the topic of gun violence as a social determinant of health. Specifically, LACMA is launching Project See Change, a first ever initiative to bring organizations together such as the California and New York Attorneys General, Brady and Sandy Hook Promise Foundations, with physicians, to identify ways physicians can make a difference through evidence-based solutions. House Committee Advances Bill That Would Reform Medicare Advantage Pre Authorization In late July, HR 8487—the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2022—passed out of the United States House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee with an overwhelming bipartisan vote. This legislation provides comprehensive reform of the Medicare Advantage prior authorization process by streamlining the health plan bureaucracy to help Medicare patients get the care they need – when they need it. The bill now moves to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. CMA strongly supports this bill and is working with AMA and all of organized medicine to pass the bill before Congress adjourns in December. Learn more here.
