Critical issues affecting today’s physicians are being decided in the legislative arena at a fast and furious pace. Healthcare reform, medical liability and insurance regulations are just a few of the vital issues being debated and voted on by decision-makers in Sacramento.

Working in partnership with the CMA and their team of the some of the best lobbyists,lawyers, and advocates, LACMA is actively involved in legislation at the federal, state and local levels.

However, the most powerful weapon in advancing the cause of physicians and their patients is you. Hearing from a physician with experience from the front lines of medicine can make all the difference for a legislator facing a complicated health care issue.

As a physician, you are in a unique position to offer advice to lawmakers about specific legislation affecting the medical profession and to share the concerns and challenges you face in your everyday life as a Los Angeles County physician. You can also help increase patient access to the important services that physicians provide. It is not only the right thing to do, so that your patients’ interests are best served, but it is also good for the stability of the medical profession.
