LACMA CEO Statement on the Los Angeles City Council Recordings October 12, 2022 Angelinos, California, Councilmembers, LA City Council, LA County, Los Angeles, Los Angeles City Council, Los Angeles County, Los Angeles County Medical Association, Mike Bonin 903 The recent revelations of racist comments by Los Angeles City Councilmembers are sickening. Making matters worse are the vile stereotypes directed at a child, a father and family. As elected officials, they have sworn to uphold the law, to look after the interests of all Angelinos, and to set an example for future generations and should be held accountable for their words and their actions. The Los Angeles County Medical Association stands with City Councilman Mike Bonin and his family, and we stand by all including our indigenous communities, as we continue to stand against bigotry, intolerance, racism, sexism, anti-semitism and xenophobia. Gustavo Friederichsen Chief Executive Officer Los Angeles County Medical Association “If it matters to our LACMA members, it matters to me.”
