Los Angeles County and Partners Launch Landmark Centers for Teens in High Schools Countywide

LOS ANGELES – On Wednesday, December 11, 2019, Officials from the County of Los Angeles, including the Board of Supervisors, the Departments of Public Health (Public Health), Mental Health (Mental Health), and representatives from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA), and Esteban Torres High School, will celebrate the opening of the first of its kind Well Being Centers (Centers) in Los Angeles County. The Center at Esteban Torres High School, like its counterparts throughout the County, will aim to promote the well-being of youth through leadership training, support for emotional and social skill building, and sexual health services. The Center will work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure the academic achievement and well-being of every student.
